I want to introduce you guys to my other (definitely not better) half, Ben, aka Benjamina (he got his nickname when we were watching Great British Bake Off.) He’ll probably be making an appearance in many blog posts as we pretty much spend every minute of everyday together.

It took me a whole 19/20 years to find someone that I would at least consider dating and I count myself as very lucky to have found the one that I want to spend the rest of my life with so early on. (Thank you Co-Op for bringing us together!)

Anyway, here’s our story…

How we met

We’re both from the same little town in Worcestershire, went to the same high school as each other but don’t recall even seeing each other around. Strange, I know. Fast forward to us both finishing high school, we ended up working at the same shop. We got on well, made friends, everyone would tell me that I was the only one that could make him happy on a shift and I always got other colleagues asking whether we were secretly seeing each other outside of work. We weren’t. That carried on for a few months. Then he moved to a job in the bakery (where I work full time) and we just started talking more, meeting up after work to see each other. We didn’t class them as dates, we were just testing the waters and seeing how things went. As you can tell by the title of this post, they went well…

Our relationship

I’d say our relationship is quite unique. From the day we first started being ‘in a relationship’ we haven’t spent a day apart.

That might be weird for some people but we’re just so comfortable together, we find it strange that some couples only see each other two, three times a week. We’re very open with each other, we enjoy staying in and doing our own little thing rather than going out every weekend. We have a lot of respect and understanding towards each other, we know what the other one is thinking, we can read each others minds etc. It’s nice.

I wish that I could tell you our relationship blossomed into this deep meaningful thing over time but it was like this from day one. I don’t understand why people have to keep trying in their relationships. If it works it works, if it doesn’t, find someone else! You’ll know if you’ve found the one and you don’t want to waste all your time on someone that you’re not going to be with for the rest of your life.

Ben does anything for me/our relationship and I’m extremely thankful for everything.

The future

We have a ton of plans for the future, just not enough money!
We’re currently saving up to get a house/flat, we’ve had a look around at some but none have caught our eye yet as we don’t really want to move away from where we live because it’s close to family and where we work.

We’re in no rush to get married, have kids etc, unlike a lot of people my age these days! (I swear around 15-20 people that were at school with me have had babies or are currently pregnant.)

We have holidays planned, we’ve started a bucket list of things that we want to do/achieve together, everything revolves around US now.

I’ve always contemplated about starting a blog, (I never really thought that my life was that interesting to write about).

But as I’ve got older, I started thinking about writing a blog when I was around 16-17 and I’m now 20 (21 soon), I’ve just decided to go for it. What could go wrong hey?

I honestly know in my heart that I will probably get next to none readers but writing makes me feel good and clears my mind so why not?

This blog isn’t really going to have a theme, I’m not going to become a make up blog, photography blog etc, I’m just using it as a platform to write about day to day things that hopefully people can relate too.

I am a little nervous about starting, I have no idea what’s going to happen but I feel like I’m ready to get out there.

Thanks for reading (hopefully!)
